Raffle win dream come true for Gordy Earll
Gordy Earll had to dig his winning ticket stub out of the recycle bin when he found out he won $23,515.72 in United Way's Dare to Dream raffle. "When Paula (Jero, United Way Executive Director) called me on Monday I thought it was to remind me about a meeting. I thought it was a joke when she said I won," Earll said. Ticket sales ended Saturday, June 4 during Dairyfest. Since less than 3,750 tickets were sold, the grand prize went to a 50/50 proceeds split. Second prize went to Trixie Willman of Medford, winning $3,000 and third prize winner Calandra Zebro of Mosinee took home $1,000. Read more to learn why Earll threw away his ticket. |
