United Way-FamilyWize partnership saves residents $57,000

In little over one year since Marshfield Area United Way's introduction of the FamilyWize Prescription Discount Card, local residents saved more than $57,000.

Residents have received an average savings of 45% or $22 per prescription.

FamilyWize is free and available to everyone. There are no age, income or residency restrictions.

The card is easy to use because it requires no registration or activation. It is accepted at local pharmacies and offers customers the lowest prices on all prescription drugs, even medicine not covered by insurance.

To receive the discount, present the card with each prescription at a participating pharmacy during the time of purchase. If you aren't already receiving the lowest price possible, the FamilyWize card can reduce your bill.

Savings result because local pharmacies have agreed to accept prices that are close to the prices available to large insurance companies and employers. In-Kind donations from national partners cover the cost of administration, printing, processing and distribution of the cards to local partners.

FamilyWize cards are available at pharmacies throughout the Marshfield Area, at United Way Partner Programs, at Marshfield Area United Way, or on United Way's Web site.

For more information about the FamilyWize Prescription Discount Card, visit www.marshfieldareaunitedway.org, www.familywize.org, or call 384-9992.

Marshfield Area United Way's service area includes Arpin, Auburndale, Granton, Greenwood, Loyal, Marshfield, Neillsville, Pittsville, Spencer and Stratford.
