Healthy Smiles for Wood County

Mission Statement: The mission of the Health Department is to protect and promote health; and prevent disease and injury.

Brief Agency Overview: The primary focus of Healthy Smiles for Wood County is on prevention, through outreach, education and sealant placement, and fluoride treatments. The program is a school-based dental sealant program in which portable dental equipment is taken to targeted schools. A volunteer dentist screens the children's teeth followed by a dental hygienist placing dental sealants and fluoride treatments on appropriate teeth.
