Mission Statement: To build, sustain and enhance a nurturing environment for Wisconsin children.
Brief Agency Overview: Children's Service Society of Wisconsin is the state's largest, private provider of child welfare services. Children's Service Society of Wisconsin provides first-rate services to clients and makes sure that both the child and the family receive the support and guidance they need to help solve their problems. With 35 locations throughout Wisconsin, skilled professionals address the needs of children and families through a variety of programs to ensure permanency for all children served. Children's Service Society offers more than 50 activities and programs in three core service areas: out-of-home care, counseling and case management, and prevention services. Children's Service Society is a member of Children's Hospital and Health System.

Child and Family Counseling:
The Marshfield location is a certified outpatient mental health clinic that places special emphasis on counsling for families and children of all ages. Therapy is offered for:
- Academic or behavioral school problems
- Depression and anxiety
- Problems due to divorce, separation, remarriage or death of a loved one
- Improve parent-child communication
- Physical or sexual abuse or other trauma
- Help parents set limits and make rules
- Assist families coping with stressful life events
Stopping Abuse for Everyone (SAFE):This group is a combination of education, therapy and support. The groups are co-facilitated by a male and female terapist. It is our goal that each man learns to identify all his controlling and abusive behaviors, while encouraging assertive/respectful approaches to handling his feelings, thoughts and conflicts.Counseling fees:
Sliding Fee Scale: because CSSW receives United Way funding, the agency's full range of services is offered on a sliding fee scale based on income. No one is turned away due to an inability to pay.
Private Health Insurance: CSSW is a state-certified counseling agency and is eligible for private insurance payment.- Treatment for Foster Care:
Foster Care provides a temporary, supportive family environment to children and teens with emotional, develomental, or physical disabilities that are unable to live at home. The goal of foster care is to reunite children with their families or achieve permanency through adoption.
Services offered to adolescents and adults include:
- 24-hour Crisis Line
- Medical Advocacy
- Legal Advocacy
- Information and Referrals
- Support Groups of rAdult and Adolescent Women
Services offered to the community include community awareness and prevention education. All services are free.
