Marshfield Clinic Center for Community Outreach-Youth Net

Mission Statement: To develop healthy environments that foster resilient, successful children, youth and families.

Brief Agency Overview: Since 1989, Marshfield Clinic Health System has operated a comprehensive afterschool program known as Youth Net. Youth Net serves approximately 275 Marshfield area youth ages 8-18 each year.

Hours of Operation: Regular hours of operation are 3:00-6:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 3:00-5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

List of programs, descriptions, eligibility requirements and costs of each:
Kid Zone - All enrolled youth in grades 2 through 5 participate in Kid Zone. Youth participate in a number of activities as part of daily programming.  Youth arrive to a healthy snack, structured physical activity time and a short wellness activity.   Homework help is also provided each afternoon.  The programming day ends with recreation time.  Youth choose from a number of daily clubs ranging from physical fitness to art and more.

Teens United - All enrolled youth in grades 6-12 participate in Teens United. Academic assistance is provided to all participants. Educational, recreational, vocational and structured activities are also provided on a weekly basis to facilitate the unique personal and social development of participants.

Individualized Case Management - All Youth Net participants go through a formal referral and enrollment process. Individualized case management plans are then developed that identify strategies to enrich and support academic success, social emotional learning and healthy active living. The case management team collaborates with parents, teachers, youth and other referring agencies to inform, develop, assess, and track youth progress. Participation in the program is at no cost to the family.

Youth Net also provides the following opportunities:  Monthly Family Dinners; Service Learning Opportunities; Field Trips; Social Emotional Support Groups; Summer Programming.

Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers are utilized to engage with youth, ages 8-18, enrolled in the Youth Net Program.  Volunteer activities range from homework help to plane building to cooking and beyond.
