This story involves a man that United Way helped when he started with our program. This gentleman had no appliances (stove, microwave….) and Marshfield Area United Way stepped in to help.
This gentleman, though young just recently passed away. The success out of this story… is that he stayed living independently at home through the meals that were delivered to his door. I have a message I recorded on the answering machine that said, “We are going to be friends a good long time. The volunteers are the sunshine in my days, and the food is the nourishment for my soul.”
