Internal Initiatives

  • AARP Tax Preparation Assistance - A partnership with  AARP and Marshifeld Area United Way.  provides free tax preparation for low- to moderate income residents.
  • FamilyWize - Prescription drug discount card distributed free of charge by the FamilyWize partnership to reduce cost of medication. By the end of December 2015, residents have saved over $214,139 with FamilyWize.
  • Make a Difference Day - A nationally recognized day of doing good in our community. United Way celebrates this day every year by organizing a leaf raking event for elderly and disabled Marshfield residents.
  • NOW (Nutrition on Weekends) Program - The NOW program is intended to assist families facing food insecurities with providing healthy, easy to prepare nutritional foods for their child during the weekend.
  • Reach Out and Read Program - Marshfield Area United Way has joined the Marshfield Clinic to improve the accessibility of books for local families through the Reach Out and Read program. Books are given out at well baby checks from birth-5 years of age.
  • Supplies 4 Success Backpack and School Supply Drive - Community school supply collection held in August.  In 2021 United Way distributed more than 630 backpacks to students in the area, including;  Marshfield, Auburndale, Granton, Greenwood, Loyal, Neillsville, Pittsville, Spencer and Stratford.
  • United for Community Wellness - A community group focused on distributed a variety of mental health and wellness topics designed to bring awareness and educate our community.
  • Volunteer Reception Center - Marshfield Area United Way has developed a Volunteer Reception Center, designed to help volunteers screen and orient spontaneous volunteers when a disaster strikes.
